Guido Bongers is a litigation lawyer based in Amsterdam, specializing in complex international disputes.

After obtaining his LLB (cum laude) at the University of Amsterdam, Guido studied a semester at the Cardozo School of Law in New York City as a selected exchange student. Subsequently, after being granted a scholarship on merit by The European Law Students’ Association, Guido attended the Cátolica Global School Law in Lisbon, where he completed the LLM program ‘Law in a European and Global Context’ (magna cum laude). Moreover, Guido completed the LLM program ‘Private Law: Commercial Practice’ (cum laude) at the University of Amsterdam.

Guido started his career as a litigation lawyer (being admitted to the Dutch Bar in January 2019) at Norton Rose Fulbright, where he acted as claimant counsel and defense counsel for several large corporations, particularly insurance companies. The Legal 500 (2022) recommended Guido and named him as a key lawyer within that firm’s top-tier insurance practice.

Guido also regularly volunteered at a legal aid center and conducted pro bono work for the Dutch Council for Refugees.

As he is passionate about obtaining compensation for prejudiced parties, Guido decided to join Pogust Goodhead in 2022.
