Pogust Goodhead Partner attends UN conference to discuss human rights and AI

October 19, 2022

Last week, one of Pogust Goodhead’s Partners, Ana Carolina Salomão, spoke at the United Nations’s One Humanity conference in Geneva, in the iconic Salle des Droits de l’Homme et de l’Alliance des Civilisations.

Joined by ambassadors, business leaders, and academics, the conference discussed the future of artificial intelligence in light of human rights.

Ana was the sole representative in the legal field, sharing insight into how Pogust Goodhead employs artificial intelligence to engage and connect with our clients.

She framed artificial intelligence as a valuable tool to:

– Leverage access to justice

– Support Pogust Goodhead to overcome informational, procedural, and financial hurdles.

Following the initiative of H. E. Amb. Juan Antonio March, President of ONUART, and H. E. Under-Secretary-General Miguel Ángel Moratinos, Ana and the rest of the panelists signed a manifesto to build a world of new horizons, where human intelligence and artificial intelligence, hand in hand, lead us into a new, more harmonious and hopeful world.

The manifesto states: “We sign the following appeal to build a world of new horizons, where human intelligence and artificial intelligence, hand in hand, lead us into a new, more harmonious and hopeful world”

The group will meet again in 2023 under the call of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the Onuart Foundation to continue the conversation.
