Cansu worked in representing a European State in an ICSID arbitration arising out of consumer credit regulations of Swiss franc-indexed loans. She has also acted in a pro bono case for several journalists in their claims before the European Court of Human Rights for violation of their physical integrity and right to freedom of expression.

Prior to joining Pogust Goodhead, Cansu worked at a leading public international law firm in London where her work comprised of advising governments, international organisations and private clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious public international law matters and international dispute resolution issues. She also worked at a major law firm in London specialising in international arbitration where she provided services mainly in the areas of commercial and investment arbitration.

Law degree (LLB) from Koç University, Istanbul 

LL.M in International Business Law from King’s College, London. 

Ph.D in Private International Law from Istanbul University with a thesis on “Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards Set Aside in the Country of Origin” which was published in December 2022.
