Pogust Goodhead resolve claims against three manufacturers of Transvaginal Mesh

August 27, 2024

Pogust Goodhead are pleased to announce that we have now resolved claims against three manufacturers of transvaginal mesh.

This is the first successful group claim in England for women who were injured by mesh implants, which treat stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Leading the litigation, Partner Lisa Lunt has released the following statement:

‘’Women implanted with transvaginal mesh have experienced years of chronic pain and suffering. Hundreds of women were prevented from making a claim due to strict 10-year time limits that are in force from the date that the product was manufactured. Its about time that the government took action to increase the time limits. As a firm we were pleased to represent clients who had been previously turned down by other firms and reach a conclusion in their claims’’

The parties involved have agreed the terms of the following statements but otherwise the terms will remain confidential-

Johnson and Johnson ‘We confirm that the actions brought by Pogust Goodhead against Johnson & Johnson Medical Limited in the High Court in London in respect of stress urinary incontinence and/or pelvic organ prolapse transvaginal mesh devices have been resolved.’

Bard ‘We can confirm that the actions brought by Pogust Goodhead in the pelvic mesh claims litigation in the High Court in London involving Stress Urinary Incontinence and/or Pelvic Organ Prolapse against Bard have been resolved without any admission of liability.’

Boston Scientific ‘We confirm that the actions brought by a number of individual Claimants, represented by Pogust Goodhead, in the transvaginal mesh claims litigation in the High Court in London involving Stress Urinary Incontinence and/or Pelvic Organ Prolapse against Boston Scientific Limited have been successfully resolved without any admission of misconduct or liability.’
