Claire is an admitted South African attorney. Starting her career in South African Local Government work, Claire provided constitutional and administrative law advice to municipalities and other high ranking governmental officials, including the Presidency. Claire also litigated against three major gold mining houses in South Africa in multiple conflicts. Additionally, she gained valuable experience in labour law in a highly regulated environment.

Following this work, Claire moved into the public interest and human rights sphere, joining a specialist South African firm, Richard Spoor Incorporated. During her time there, Claire pursued class action litigation in consumer protection. Her areas of interest included food safety (a claim against the largest food producer in Africa for the largest global outbreak of Listeriosis) and vehicle safety (against a worldwide brand and one of the largest vehicle suppliers in the country). Claire also worked on a diamond mine tailings dam collapse class action, which work she continues after moving to Pogust Goodhead.

Claire is excited at the prospect of serving the International Department of Pogust Goodhead and has a particular interest in environmental claims in the public interest.
