Insignia pressure cooker recall

On October 26, 2023, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled nearly one million Insignia pressure cookers due to burn hazards associated with the device. They identified incorrect volume markings on the inner pot that can cause users to overfill the device and potentially be burned by dangerously pressurized hot food or liquids ejecting from it.

One day later, Best Buy followed with an announcement that it is recalling these “Insignia” branded pressure cookers.  According to news reports, Best Buy has received 31 reports of food or liquid being expelled from the cooker under pressure, and 17 reports of burn injuries, including severe and second-degree burns.
