Pogust Goodhead, in collaboration with co-counsel, has filed a lawsuit against Travelers Insurance and its subsidiaries. The lawsuit has been filed on behalf of consumers who purchased automobile insurance in New Jersey.
As alleged in the complaint, consumers who purchased policies including $15,000 in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits were wrongfully denied full coverage when involved in automobile collisions and required medical treatment.
Travelers Insurance advised insureds that it would not pay the full $15,000 in PIP benefits and instead notified insureds that their policies were ‘exhausted’ at lower amounts.
The consumer class action seeks to compensate those insureds who were unfairly informed that their policy benefits had been used up before Travelers’ honoured the full amounts of coverage they had bought.
The Travelers Insurance lawsuit is an important step towards protecting consumers’ rights and ensuring that they receive the full value for their insurance investment.
