Nayomi is an Attorney admitted to the Bar in Sri Lanka. As a part of Pogust Goodhead’s London Office, her practice focuses on civil litigation and the firm’s emissions portfolio.

Prior to joining the firm, Nayomi worked at a leading international law firm in London and has a broad range of experience in litigation, regulatory investigations and international disputes including before English Courts, arbitral tribunals, and the International Court of Justice.

She has served as Associate Legal Officer to H.E. Judge Bhandari and Judicial Fellow to H.E. Judge Robinson at the International Court of Justice. During this time, Nayomi was involved in over 10 inter-State cases at all stages of proceedings and advised the Judges on institutional and administrative matters concerning the UN Charter.

She has also worked at the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC where she advised on financial transactions in the MENA region for which she was awarded a pro bono distinction for outstanding contributions in the public interest.

Nayomi holds an LLM from the George Washington University Law School as a Thomas Buergenthal Scholar and Weaver ICJ Fellow, and BA, LLB (Hons) from the National Law School of India University. She regularly publishes in the areas of human rights and ESG including in the Harvard International Law Journal and is a co-author of the “Report on use of ESG contractual obligations and related disputes” published by the International Bar Association in 2023. Her written work has been cited by UN officials and academics.
